The Journey

People come into your life for a season, for a reason or for a lifetime. [Anon.]

Can you remember a person who meets one or more of these?
What purpose did they bring into your life?
What is your connection to them now?

“I think life is about travelling [through life] and walking along side people for however long you do.  Everything starts and finishes and its about making the most of the journey.”

This is a quote from a work colleague.

In my devotional ‘Practicing the Presence of God’, it states “the practice of the presence of God, like all spiritual practices, takes a long obedience in the same direction. It takes time, diligence, and a holy grit.” It is a journey with God.

When walking the journey of life, God only asks us to be ourselves. When we invite God into our lives and ask Him to walk the journey together, He is there for all three purposes - a reason, a season and a lifetime.

Wherever you travel in life, ask God to journey with you.
Jesus practiced this through his whole life. Some of these journeys took him between towns with other people - the road to Emmaus for example. Other journeys  took him to a place in his heart with God - the Garden of Gethsemane.

My challenge is to cultivate “a habitual, silent, and secret conversation of the soul with God” while on that journey.

What will be your challenge?
